CNR Capo Granitola
She graduated in Natural Sciences from the University of Pavia in 2005 and in Evolution of Animal and Human Behavior from the University of Turin in 2007. She obtained her PhD in Evolutionary Biology and Biodiversity Conservation from the same university in February 2012. Since 2023, she has been a Senior Researcher at the National Research Council (CNR). She has extensive experience in the fields of bioacoustics, animal behavior, and conservation, with a particular focus on marine mammals.
Her work primarily focuses on acoustic behavior and the structure of vocalizations in marine species, with an emphasis on studying the abundance and spatio-temporal distribution of populations. She also studies the effects of anthropogenic disturbance and the impacts of climate change, especially in Arctic environments. She is involved in national and international projects in collaboration with research groups in Argentina, Fiji, France, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Spain, the UK, and the USA.
She teaches Animal Behavior and Marine Bioacoustics at the University of Turin and is the author of over 65 ISI publications.
